Why we recommend it

What it does

It is a plastic junction box, 10 × 10 cm and 5.4 cm deep, for making cable splices and joints in an orderly way. Instead of leaving the splice wrapped in tape and hanging loose, you keep it here: closed, protected and easy to find when something in the installation needs checking.

It has 7 rubber cable glands so each cable comes in without leaving a gap. It is used to join the power cable to the camera cable, split one power feed among several cameras, or change cable type partway along the run. It is a basic installation material used on almost every job.
