Why we recommend it

What it does

UTP cable is the network cable that carries each IP camera's video to the switch or recorder and, with a PoE switch, the power too. This Precision reel holds 305 m of 100% copper Cat5e cable with a 0.45 mm conductor (approx. 24–25 AWG), with a UV-resistant jacket and a gel filling inside that keeps moisture out.

It is the reel for cable that runs through buried conduit: gardens, parking lots, the run out to the gate or a guard booth. If water gets into the conduit, the gel keeps moisture from creeping inside the cable and ruining it. For runs in the open air but not underground, the version without gel is enough.
