Why we recommend it

What it does for you

A simple, affordable recorder for homes and small businesses with up to 4 IP cameras. Each camera connects with a single network cable to one of its 4 PoE ports, which carry data and power, with up to 36 W in total. Once activated it finds and adds network cameras on its own. It records with H.265+ compression, which the maker says cuts disk space by up to 75 %, onto a drive of up to 6 TB.

It accepts cameras up to 6 MP and shows the picture on HDMI and VGA at the same time, up to 1080p. It has line crossing and intrusion detection, plus smart search to review only the part of the video you care about. It is managed with HiLookVision and allows up to 16 remote connections. It is small (20 × 20 cm) and runs on a 48 V power supply.

What you need to make it work

The recorder ships without a hard drive: it needs a surveillance drive to store video. This is what we recommend to complete the installation.
