Why we recommend it

What it does at home

The indoor station of a Hikvision IP video intercom: the 7-inch touch screen (1024 × 600) that hangs on the wall inside the house to see who is calling at the door station, talk to them and open the door. Important: it needs a Hikvision IP door station, sold separately; this monitor does not work on its own. It can also show up to 16 video channels in total between door stations and linked IP cameras, and from the Hik-Connect app you answer and open even when you are away.

It joins the network over Wi-Fi or cable and is powered by standard PoE (802.3af) over that same cable, or by a 12 V supply that is not included. It stores captures and messages on a microSD card up to 128 GB, accepts up to 8 door stations and 5 extension monitors, and has 8 alarm inputs and 2 outputs. It is for indoor use and mounts on the surface; it measures 200 × 140 × 15 mm.
