Why we recommend it

What it does

It is the junction box for Hikvision DS-2CD25XX series domes. It is fixed to the surface, the network and power connectors go inside, and the dome screws on top. That keeps the connections hidden and protected, and leaves the camera properly seated instead of resting on the cables.

You need it when you install one of those domes on a surface where the cables cannot go inside the wall, or when you want the installation to look tidy from below. Confirm your dome is a DS-2CD25XX before ordering; this box is made for that series and not for others.
