What it does at home

The EZVIZ DL04 Pro is a smart deadbolt installed next to your door handle (it does not replace it). It opens with your fingerprint, a passcode, a card, the mechanical key or from your phone with the EZVIZ app. It connects straight to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, with no hub, so you can unlock remotely, check whether it is locked and create temporary passcodes: handy if you rent on Airbnb and want to give each guest access.

The maker states it is not for outdoor use: install it on a door sheltered from sun and rain. It runs on 4 included AA batteries and, if they run out, takes emergency power from a power bank over USB Type-C. It alerts your phone when it is opened, when the battery is low or if someone tries to force it, and locks for 3 minutes after 5 failed attempts. Includes 2 cards and a doorbell button.
